A Country Cowboy. Roots. Heart.

Our roots. Our childhood. I have lived in 2 cities now for over 7 years. I lived in the country for 20 years. I was a boy with a country to explore growing up. A land of wilderness. I was able to be a boy and have many adventures there. Im noticing my heart starting to call me back there. I bought a pair of cowboy boots this summer. I hadnt wore any in about 20 years. It has awakened something in my heart. Roots. They go deep.

Clover patches

I discovered clovers in my grass today. Odd as there has never been any in my yard in years past. I also did not plant any. We reap what we sow, and yet how often do we also not get even more. Is that not what a loving father does - gives even more. How up and down we can be. I need to remind myself to live with not just a biblical worldview, but with a father worldview.
On a recent answer to prayer...

Today I saw a book I considered buying, but passed on it. Rather than buying it, on the way out I prayed "God, I want you to move someone to buy me that book and then I will read it." Simple basic prayers like this are enjoyable when they are later answered.
I can't really put into words how I feel tonight, but I think what best sums it up is what Rob Bell wrote in the chapter I just finished reading in Velet Elvis. It is my heart's prayer tonight too.
"God, I can't believe I get to live this life."
